Lauren Squires

Lauren (she/her) is a PhD Candidate at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She holds an MSc in Experimental Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She joined the Re:Searching for 2SLGBTQ+ Health team in 2021 to pursue her interests in psychosocial oncology with a focus on sexual and gender diverse (SGD) communities through her doctoral studies under the co-supervision of Drs. Jackie Bender and Lori Ross. Lauren’s CIHR-funded doctoral research is focused on using intersectionality to explore cancer online support group (OSG) use among SGD people diagnosed with cancer in Canada. She is also a member of the Sexual and Gender Diversity in Cancer Care (SGDc) Working Group at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where she collaborates with a dedicated team of researchers and clinicians to educate healthcare providers and conduct SGD-focused psychosocial oncology research.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring new queer and/or horror movies, baking for her loved ones, and taking (very) long walks around Toronto.
